Towards the end of 2008 I was trying to think of an achievable challenge for 2009, something that would give me a focus to get out being active a bit more - not to set PB's ... just to get a bit fitter and maybe lose a few of the excess pounds I put on over the festive season. 2009 miles was born and this is the blog that goes along with it.

The Forest Service used to have the Step Test as a requirement for all of their wildland fire fighters. You had to step continuously step for 5 minutes. After the five, they took your pulse rate and checked you on the chart. (ability to do work)
